Welcome to the July edition of the Leaf release notes!

This month, we are excited to share some fantastic updates:

  • Easier Prescription Sending: You can now effortlessly send prescriptions directly to John Deere Monitors using JD Ops Center Work Plans.

  • Simplified managing connections and authentication: We’ve enhanced both Leaf Link and Magic Link.

…And more. All while working around two breaking changes introduced by data providers this month, reinforcing our commitment to seamless data integration so you can focus on delivering value on your roadmap.

Let’s get started!

Sending prescriptions to JD monitors with Operation Center Work Plans

Operation Center Work Plans capabilities are now integrated with the Leaf API allowing you to easily send field recommendations to wirelessly enabled Generation 4 displays. You need to provide a pre-configured field boundary, prescriptions files (with product/variety details), and equipment identification for wireless data flow directly to Generation 4 displays for execution.

Simplified managing connections and authentication

We’ve enhanced Leaf Link and Magic Link to simplify managing connections and authentication with agriculture data providers:

  • Re-authentication Flow: If user credentials become unauthenticated, end users can use the same widget/link to reconnect with the provider.
Leaf, data infrastructure for agriculture
  • Organization Management with John Deere: For John Deere the widget now displays the number of connected organizations, helping you to manage access permissions.

Added Fuel consumption data from John Deere

Our conversion process now extracts fuel usage data from John Deere files.

The fuel property can be identified as fuelUsed in the Standard GeoJSON file and as totalFuelUsed in the summary.

Fuel consumption data is available for manually uploaded files and files pulled directly from the JD API.

Added support for Topcon Shapefiles

We’ve expanded our dataset compatibility. Leaf now supports operations files in Topcon’s shapefile format.

Better control synced partner data

You can now control whether your application will receive synced partner data from John Deere and AgLeader by adjusting the syncPartnerData configuration. The default is true.

For John Deere, user authorization is required to access shared organizations.

ICYMI: Irrigation data provider connections are available through Leaf

Leaf, data infrastructure for agriculture

Leaf supports irrigation data from irrigation providers Valley and Lindsay.
